Project Overview

The 2025 Arterial Street Improvement Program consists of resurfacing Gross Point Road.

The Village of Morton Grove receives federal funding to use for construction and construction engineering on local streets. The construction improvements consist of repairing deteriorated curb and gutter and utility structures, patching deficient areas of concrete or asphalt pavement, upgrading curb ramps, milling and resurfacing asphalt surface pavement, and other incidental work needed to restore disturbed areas of the right-of-way.

Pavement markings to be installed in the spring season.

Project Summary

IDOT Contract Number: 61L63

The construction on Gross Point Road will consist of intermittent patching of the roadway to preserve the life of the pavement. 2-1/4” and 1-1/2″ of asphalt binder and surface courses will be removed and replaced to improve the roadway. Curb and Gutter will be replaced as necessary. Sidewalks and Driveways requiring ADA corrections will be updated. Pavement markings and other miscellaneous items will complete the work.

Traffic Control :

Traffic will be maintained in each direction throughout the construction with lane reductions. No lane closures are anticipated.

The project will be put out for bid by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

August to September 2025

Construction engineering services will begin, with principal work starting in the field.

Construction Start

Completion Date

Nov. 15-17, 2025 ( substantial completion )

All major contract items and roadways will be safely opened to traffic by this date.

Nov 2025 - June 2026

The contractor will complete all clean-up and punch list items within 10 working days after the completion date. The project will officially close in June 2026.
